Meet our registered Manager at Grange Farm

Admin

I am the Home Manager at Grange Farmhouse and am working towards becoming the home's Registered Manager. I bring over 12 years of experience as a Registered Manager, mostly in adult services but also in children's services, with a background spanning community-based support, extra care schemes, and team management. Although my career has been rooted mainly in adult services, I found the move into children's residential care a natural step, drawn by a long-standing desire to help people reach their potential, and have enjoyed building relationships with young people that give them stability, confidence and independence.

My approach is person-centred, focused on ensuring every young person feels listened to, respected and genuinely valued, with trusting relationships built around understanding each individual. The staff at Anchor are great, with colleagues and managers always on hand to offer guidance. I also take great pride in the teamwork within the home, which  makes it welcoming, safe and nurturing. Underpinning my work is the belief that every young person deserves the same level of care and understanding I would want for my own family.

The best thing about living here is that I get to chill in the garden whenever I want, since I never really had my own outdoor space before. I'm starting to feel like this is home now, even though I still miss my mum's house sometimes. Grange Farm is calm and the staff actually listen when you talk to them. The funniest thing that's happened is when one of the staff tripped over the dog bed and pretended she meant to do it. I feel safest in the lounge because there's always someone around for a chat. The staff give me space to figure things out myself, which I'm not used to. If someone new was moving in, I'd tell them to give it a few weeks because it gets easier. Since living here I've started talking more about how I feel instead of bottling it up, and I'm proud of that. I would like to thank R because she's always been there for me. In the future I want to keep building my confidence and stay close with my family.
