About Anchor Care and Education

Anchor homes are usually larger houses in rural areas that give young people space and freedom to develop. Our care practice is founded on high levels of therapeutic input from staff, life coaches and counsellors and we take our responsibility to create opportunities for our young people seriously. We accept placements from all over the UK, and we celebrate diversity amongst young people. Developing close relationships with Local Authorities is very important to us as we believe this helps create better outcomes.

We invest in ongoing training for all of our staff at every level and we also provide training for other companies in areas of expertise.

What we do

Our mission is to change young people’s lives. We do this in many ways, including setting firm and consistent boundaries

We do this by:

• Creating opportunities for young people to experience new things
• Encouraging young people to make positive changes in their lives
• Playing with our young people and having fun
• Setting goals and targets so that young people know what they are aiming for
• Giving young people the confidence to know that change is possible and achievable
• Preparing young people to take their place in society as adults with purpose
• Building self-esteem and self-reliance

How we do it

Our approach empowers young people and families to access a safe and fulfilling future. Attention to detail, outstanding therapeutic programmes, and specialist training for our carers and staff support our aim of improving the self-esteem, confidence, life chances, achievements, and placement stability of every young person in our care.
